CLEARWATER BEACH

Postby Gregs on Sun Jun 13, 2010 1:32 am

Drove over to Clearwater Beach today and must admit we thoroughly enjoyed it

Miles of soft white sand and a lovely sea breeze - reminded me of Cleethorpes (not!)

Strange experience going into the sea to cool down and finding it like getting in to a warm bath!

Well worth a visit

I've never been but I think we might hit both coasts this trip - I assume the oil slick hasn't got down as far as Clearwater?

did you see any Quad bikes for hire on the beach ,
we promised Charlotte last year she could hire one if she passed her Driving test (which she has now )

Didn't see any quad bikes on the stretch where we were ( near the pier) but the beach is so vast that I wouldn't be surprised if there were some further along

Didn't see any donkeys either, to remind me of home!

No sign of any oil slick, hopefully it will be quite a while before it arrives (hopefully it won't) but must admit that is what made our minds up to go to the Gulf Coast this time

It is quite a long drive to get there but its well worth it

Love clearwater and agree the beaches are so pristine and the water so inviting.... last time we were there, there was loads of jelly fish washed up on the beach - interesting yet scary.
