Honeymoon Island
Unblemished nature is just short drive away from Tampa.
After crossing the Gulf Intercoastal Waterway to Honeymoon Island and passing the retirement condos, your choice of destinations include: a two-mile stretch of isolated Gulf sand, hiking trails where you can bird watch, or picnicing on either the Gulf or sound sides of the island.
It's a great beach with isolated feeling, yet has the convenience of facilities
Beach volleyball: Volleyball nets in the picnic and play areas give visitors to the area a little action.
If you love birdwatching take the Osprey Trail, it is well named with an unbelievable amount of nesting Ospreys - highly recommended.
Location: On the north end of Dunedin, from U.S. 19A turn west onto Dunedin Causeway (S.R. 586/Curlew Road) and follow onto island.
Parking: There is a $4.00 per vehicle entrance fee (or $2.00 for car and driver only).
Hours: Posted hours are 8:00 a.m. to sunset.
Facilities: Concessions, picnic tables, restrooms and showers
